WASHINGTON — Friday the DC council produced a 9 to 3 vote and a major step forward for the RFK redevelopment project. Commanders fans were in attendance as well as groups opposing the ‘yes’ vote.

Some looking forward to the greater potential of a new stadium and others said they wish the city could get a better deal.

“Deja vu all over again. Like history all over again," said Linda Alexander, a lifelong Washingtonian. She hopes a new stadium means new revenue for areas of the district that need it.

“To bring that revitalization and economic boost to Ward 7 to which, those wards, to me, are ignored, Wards 7 and 8 so they need that," said Alexander.
