AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The 2025 MGA MT Johnson Club Championship teed off Friday, the first of a three day tournament with many golfers looking to take home the title.

This is a golf tournament honoring the late MT Johnson, a former Amarillo Country Club member and a 2017 inductee into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame.

16 golfers looked to grab one of the seven spots in the championship flight beginning Saturday officially.

Last year’s champion, Stewart Dodson, automatically grabbed the one-seed in the championship flight, but would have secured the spot anyways after finishing today in first place.
