Seattle police officers arrested a 36-year-old man, and convicted felon, for shooting up his own apartment in West Seattle last night.
On July 31, at about 10:45 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of multiple shots being fired inside an apartment building in the 3200 block of California Avenue Southwest. When police arrived, they heard active gunfire and a man screaming inside his residence.
Police made a security perimeter around the building and the Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT) responded to the scene.
Officers evacuated the nearby residents and got them to safety. According to the police report, they “were terrified, tried to move towards somewhere they thought that was safe (within their apartment) and feared they were about to be shot.”
