A Frisco man was acquitted this week of a molestation charge stemming from a 2024 Killeen police investigation after a two-day trial.

The defendant, Rashard Devondre Readus, was indicted on Feb. 28, 2024, on a second-degree felony charge of indecency with a child by contact. He pleaded not guilty on Tuesday, July 29, at the start of the trial. A jury was empaneled on Monday, July 28, in the 264th Judicial District Court. Bell County court records show that the jury heard testimony from four people on Tuesday as part of the state’s case.

On Wednesday, July 30, after hearing jury instructions and closing arguments, the jury retired to deliberate and reached a not-guilty verdict.

Readus was released from the Bell County Jail after posting a reduced bond of $40,000,
