Work sessions are where Mayor Kevin Hartke takes informal polls of the Chandler City Council on general direction to give to staff, rather than official votes.

Monday, Hartke might end up taking one such informal poll a second time.

Council member O.D. Harris was absent July 14 when council met in its well-anticipated work session on utility rates. The council deadlocked, 3-3, in its informal poll about which of two recommended approaches toward determining the formula utility rates in March 2026 that staff should use.
