A 'gritty' Glasgow gran is set to climb a Loch Lomond hill this month in celebration of her 80th birthday.

Maureen Kelly will be celebrating her milestone birthday on August 23 with a mighty hill walk in aid of a charity close to her heart - Glasgow’s No.1 Baby & Family Support Service, which is run by her daughter and local councillor Audrey Dempsey.

Maureen is preparing to walk Conic Hill in Balmaha, and despite her age is taking on the challenge with grit and positivity - proving "age is no barrier" says granddaughter Darcie. And is all set with her fresh new walking boots!
