A multimillion-dollar lawsuit has been filed against two Augusta County sheriff's deputies who have been accused of using excessive force after a 2023 cross-county vehicular pursuit.

The $3.35 million lawsuit was filed in neighboring Albemarle County, where the chase ended. The plaintiffs, Adam Ryan Martin of Gordonsville and Tina Marie Lang of Ruckersville, are seeking $3 million in actual damages and $350,000 in punitive damages from deputies William Mikolay and Mark Stutes.
