A portion of the northbound Interstate 295 lanes were partially shuttered early Saturday due to an ongoing investigation into a fatal crash.
D.C. Police confirmed the lane closures were prompted by a crash, but have yet to release specific details of the crash itself.
To date, it’s known the crash happened in the northbound lanes between the 11th Street bridge and Pennsylvania Avenue SE. The crash was reported to first responders just after 6 a.m.
WTOP traffic reporter Brian Albin detailed that delays were “happening for people coming off the outbound 11 St. bridge who are just getting toward the bridge.”
“You’re going to want to make sure you are planning your alternate route in advance,” he urged.
