Is 90 the new 80??? A recent analysis finds that many Americans who reach age 90 and beyond say they are in good health (JAMA Internal Medicine, “Most 90-Somethings Feel Healthy,” March 20, 2017).
What’s more, the number of Americans age 90 years or older is expected to more than quadruple by the year 2050 (according to the U.S. Census Bureau). Few 90 + in the study showed signs of depression or cognitive problems, although they took a lot of medications and had difficulty getting around.
