Currituck Commissioners to consider plan to change election structure

At a work session scheduled for Monday, Aug. 4, the Currituck Board of Commissioners will discuss a plan that could change the way people in that county elect those commissioners.

Currituck County Attorney Megan Morgan told the Voice that at the meeting, the board will hear a presentation about a proposed “alteration to the voting structure in Currituck County” that would change “from a mix of residency districts (candidate must reside in the district and elected countywide) and at-large [members] to electoral districts (candidates must reside in and be elected by district).”
