PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police are searching for a suspect in a reported robbery Saturday morning at the Bangor Savings Bank branch on Brighton Avenue, according to a news release.

Police responded at 9:32 a.m. to reports that a man entered the bank in an apparent robbery before he fled into the wooded area behind the building with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was seen during the alleged robbery, police said.

The suspect was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, green pants, navy blue shoes, blue gloves with a mask and sunglasses, according to police. He appears to be 5-foot-8 with a "stocky" build.

Bangor Savings Bank officials also reported that everyone is safe.
