The Doobie Brothers continues to give fans reason to, well, listen to the music.
On June 6 the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group released its 16th studio album, “Walk This Road,” to nearly universal critical acclaim. It’s the group’s first release to feature singer-keyboardist Michael McDonald back in the fold full time since “One Step Closer” in 1980. It’s also the first time since 1976’s “Takin` It to the Streets” in 1976 that both McDonald and founding member Tom Johnston worked on an album together.
Its 10 tracks add to a catalog that includes seven platinum-or-better albums — including 1976’s Diamond-certified “Best of the Doobies” — and enduring hits such as “Listen to the Music,” “China Grove,” “Long Train Runnin’,” “Black Water,” “Takin’ It to the Streets” and “What a Fool Believe
