Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman was arrested for a weapons violation, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

Perryman was arrested on Friday after he was pulled over for a traffic violation around 9:30 p.m. in Inglewood, LASD said. Officials did not specify what that violation was.

"During the traffic stop, deputies discovered five firearms in Mr. Perryman's vehicle, two of which were assault style rifles. He was arrested and booked on weapons violation charges and was cooperative with deputies,'' the department added.

Perryman was being held without bail at the sheriff's South Los Angeles station and is scheduled to appear in an Inglewood courtroom on Tuesday.
