It was a cool and cloudy day in "Czech Capital USA," where thousands of people gathered to celebrate the 64th annual Czech Festival.
The festival filled downtown Wilber, where families gathered wearing flower crowns, eating sauerkraut and sharing generations worth of culture.
An effort to preserve Czech heritage was found in many forms throughout the morning — dancing, quilting, music, food and quality time.
And it wasn't just locals partaking in festivities. Many traveled from across the United States to experience Czech culture.
On his journey back home to Springfield, Missouri, from the Grand Canyon, visitor Mike Simpson stopped at the Czech Festival because he heard it was a great experience and a large festival.
