MIAMI – Too many times over the past several weeks, the Yankees have been on the wrong end of a play that manager Aaron Boone will insist “can’t happen.” They added another to a growing list in the second inning on Saturday, when Jazz Chisholm Jr. was doubled off first base on a pop-up to second.

That prompted a conversation between Chisholm and Boone an inning later, down the dugout steps and out of view from the cameras, and preceded Boone appearing to give an earful to first-base coach Travis Chapman. That was arguably the loudest moment of the day for the Yankees, who produced just two hits in a 2-0 loss to the Marlins at loanDepot park.
