TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A felony suspect tried to escape authorities by hiding in a body of water on Saturday.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Key Biscayne Drive in pursuit of a suspect who had fled into a nearby body of water.

HCSO sent its Underwater Recovery Team into the water to search the reed line, where they said they found the suspect hiding beneath the brush.

Video of the incident shows deputies pulling the suspect from the water before taking him into custody.
