WIMAUMA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Hillsborough County mother is demanding justice months after her only son was gunned down outside his home, and the man accused of pulling the trigger is still on the run.
Elizabeth Gomez said she wears her son Ramiro’s fingerprint around her neck every day. It’s a silver heart-shaped necklace she hasn’t taken off since April, the month she lost him.
“It’s horrifying,” she said. “Nobody wants to wake up to that call. I had just talked to my son the night before. I was in disbelief.”
Ramiro Muniz, a father of six, was shot and killed outside his Wimauma home in the early morning hours of April 12.
