SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Fall camp kicked off this past week for the Notre Dame football team, and it was great to be back seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones.
Among the newcomers is the new defensive coordinator Chris Ash.
The university announced the hiring of Ash in February following Al Golden’s departure to the NFL .
Great news for Irish fans, he brings plenty of experience from both college football and the NFL. Most recently, he spent last year as a scout for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
And while Golden left a strong legacy with the program, Ash aims to uphold that style and culture by staying true to himself and focusing on the bigger picture, which is building those relationships with the players.
