ROCK HILL, S.C. — Chants echoed down Main Street Saturday afternoon as Rock Hill residents rallied alongside cities across the U.S. for a national day of protest known as “Rage Against the Regime.”

Organized locally by York County Rising , the demonstration was part of a coordinated nationwide response aimed at what participants call rising authoritarianism and attacks on democracy, civil rights, and public programs.

“We’re showing up and letting people know continually that this is not what the American vision was,” said Bryan, an organizer with York County Rising. “Everything that we feel is wrong in this country and everything people feel is wrong in this country.”
