Capt. Jake Dilsaver , the one-time head of the Special Victims Unit, resigned from the Lincoln Police Department on July 31.

On Wednesday, the Journal Star's Lori Pilger reported Dilsaver had been facing dual investigations, one by LPD's internal affairs and another by the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.

Here’s what we know about Dilsaver.

• He was a 17-year veteran of the department.

• Dilsaver was named publicly in a lawsuit against the department filed two years ago by a former Lincoln police officer alleging a toxic work environment for female officers at the department.

• He had been on paid administrative leave since he was removed from command in March.
