GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Going to the grocery store, prices on many items may be a little higher than you might have expected.
For months, talk of widespread tariffs from the Trump administration, and what those could do to different industries like agriculture, may have some wondering whether they're to blame.
"I think certainly down the road, we're going to see, you know, price increases from tariffs," said Kevin Carter, who works as the chair of Wayne State University's Department of Economics.
However, Cotter signaled, not quite yet for the grocery market.
Tariffs keep changing," he explained. "So, even for goods that have been hit with the tariff, importers are waiting to see is this tariff going to stay before deciding to raise prices."
