Camping in historic churches, or 'champing', has garnered a massive following across the UK, and the best news is it's free for children during school holidays . Over 10,000 people have now experienced an overnight stay inside a church , with families praising its affordable rates and complimentary spots for children.
This innovative concept was created by The Churches Conservation Trust, and it's not only promoting and preserving historic places of worship but also introducing 'sustainable' tourism to some of the country's most stunning regions, with prices starting from just £55 per night. The clever initiative is also generating crucial funds for the maintenance of churches that might otherwise be at risk of closure.
