Actor Jack Lowden has been spotted filming his role as Mr Darcy for the upcoming Pride and Prejudice series in Spitalfields. The 35-year-old was seen in riding boots and a ruffled shirt when the period drama's set took over Princelet Street yesterday afternoon (August 8).

One eagle-eyed fan, who watched the shoot from her holiday rental, managed to spend plenty of time watching the action unfold. Videos posted online show the historic road, which boasts an early Georgian townhouse, filled with extras in Regency wear and a horse-drawn carriage.

Whilst not in character, Jack was seen talking to production staff, pacing the pavement and twirling his riding gloves. The star, who is expecting his first child with Oscar-nominated wife Saoirse Ronan , will appear alongside Emma Corrin's Emma
