CHARLOTTE — Jimmy Horn Jr. took a moment to enjoy the roar of the crowd when he ran onto the field Saturday night for Fan Fest, before locking in for the scrimmage.

"I feel like it's really when you first walk out and you see all the fans and stuff like that," Horn said following the practice under the lights and 40,000-plus fans. "But once you're in that field, well, once I'm on the field, it's like it's another switch that activates. I just be locked in and try to block out all the noise and just focus on what's in front of me, not what's on the outside of me."

He took a moment to enjoy it again after he scored his first touchdown, a short yardage play-action throw from Andy Dalton as he waltzed into the front corner of the end zone.
