KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - It only lasted 12 seconds, but Tuesday’s scuffle between offensive tackle Josh Simmons and defensive end Ashton Gillotte attracted a lot of attention. But now, for the first time- we heard how the 2 rookies handled the situation.
“Ten minutes later, we were “dabbing each other up,” Gillotte told reporters on Saturday. “It’s competitors trying to get better.”
Since that day, the cameras have been focused on the two draft picks, but it turns out they have known all about each other long before joining the Chiefs.
“Me and him have had a lot of mutual respect since coming from college,” the defensive end said, “I watched his (Simmons’) games, he watched mine. It’s a lot of mutual respect.”
