Leicester City manager Marti Cifuentes has not ruled out signing a new striker despite praising Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka’s “amazing” performances against Fiorentina.

City beat the Italian side 2-0 on Sunday afternoon with a strong display in their final pre-season affair, but none of the 19 players used by the boss were new signings.

It’s understood that City’s transfer focus is on getting players out of the door before new arrivals come in, but that an exception may be made for a new forward.

Ayew started and scored his third goal of the summer, while Daka came on as a substitute and was regularly applauded by Cifuentes from the dugout for his pressing.
