According to Alaina Getzenberg, Bills RB James Cook only offered up a single word when asked why he isn’t practicing with the team: “Business.”
The team had no comment on Cook’s decision to decline participation in practice. Cook has still shown up for training camp, meaning this situation seems to be a hold-in rather than a holdout.
It was expected that Cook would attend camp, but it was unknown if he would join the team on the practice field.
Cook has been openly seeking a new contract and has not been happy with the lack of progress. He previously chose to report to the mandatory minicamp in June to avoid over $100,000 in fines.
