WEBSTER, N.Y. – Residents in Webster are voicing concerns over a proposed Verizon cell phone tower near Creekside Trail. The town and Verizon have suggested building the tower on municipal land, but some neighbors are worried about potential impacts on their homes, the environment, and their health.

“This impacts each of us who’ve built a life here,” Teresa Chapman said. Chapman, a cancer survivor, lives near the proposed site and expressed concerns about the tower’s potential health effects.

“I was just diagnosed last year, so I’m still going through active treatment,” Chapman said. “What I’ve read on the impacts of cell phone towers and what they can do. It’s still very unknown … I don’t want to be a test for that.”
