CARTHAGE, Mo. — Carthage Water & Electric Plant has been nationally recognized by the American Public Power Association with a mutual aid commendation for its support in electric power restoration efforts for City Utilities of Springfield.

In response to widespread outages caused by severe storms June 29, CWEP sent five linemen — Jeff Moore, Justin Ralston, James Pittman, Jake Brunnert and Tristain Hartman — to assist in the restoration efforts. Crews worked 16-hour days alongside many fellow public power utility personnel to restore service to affected customers. ×
