A man died after falling during an Oasis concert at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday night. The incident occurred just before 10:30 PM local time. The Metropolitan Police reported that officers and paramedics responded to the scene after receiving reports of an injured individual.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was found with injuries consistent with a fall and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or recorded it on their phones to come forward.
Oasis expressed their shock and sadness in a statement, saying, "We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved."
Wembley Stadium management confirmed that medical personnel, including the London Ambulance Service, attended to the injured man. They stated, "Despite their efforts, the fan very sadly died. Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers."
The concert was part of Oasis's first tour in 16 years, which began on July 4 in Cardiff, Wales. Saturday's performance was the fourth of seven scheduled shows at Wembley. Despite the tragedy, the stadium announced that Sunday’s concert would proceed as planned.
Following the Wembley shows, Oasis is set to continue their tour in North America, Asia, Australia, and South America. The band, featuring brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, reunited for this tour after a lengthy split. Their previous successes include the iconic 1995 album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, which featured hits like "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova."
