WASHINGTON — The Washington Nationals honored the newest class of DC Sports Hall of Fame inductees Sunday with an on-field ceremony at Nationals Park ahead of the team’s matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers.
This year’s class features seven individuals and one legendary team that have left a lasting impact on the local and national sports landscape. Among the honorees are former Washington Mystics guard and four-time WNBA All-Star Alana Beard, and Georgetown basketball standout turned professional star Alonzo Mourning.
Also inducted were Rich Chvotkin, the long-time radio voice of Georgetown University men’s basketball, and Johnny Dawkins, a standout from Mackin Catholic High School who went on to a successful college and professional basketball career. Soccer great and Lake Braddock Se
