AMES, Iowa (KCRG) - This season, Iowa State is losing two great players to the NFL; Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins were a duo that tore up the Big 12.
The Cyclones could have another aerial duo in their locker room, just not in the wide receiver room. Ben Brahmer and Gabe Burkle have rarely been on the field together, but that could change this season.
Quarterback Rocco Becht said those two tight ends may be on the field at the same time because of their abilities as pass catchers and blockers.
Burkle a junior from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, says he and Brahmer have the versatility to give teams fits.
“It’s harder for the defense to match up with us, we have two threats at tight end so they gotta cover both of us,” said Burkle. “We have great wide receivers as well, everyone on
