CONRAD — Gabe Stordahl and True Archer drove in runs, and Wyatt Ford threw seven sharp innings to lead the Bozeman Bucks past the Bitterroot Red Sox 2-1 for the State A American Legion title Sunday.
It was the fourth Class A crown and first since 2015 for the Bucks (43-10).
Stordahl had a run-scoring grounder in the second inning — bringing in Grayson Tranka who reached third on an error and Miles Sgamma’s double — and Archer had an RBI single for a 2-0 lead in the third.
Ford gave up two walks and Brady DeMoss’ RBI single in the fourth inning but was kept getting the key out. He worked around two singles to start the sixth inning, and a one-out single in the seventh. He allowed seven hits and two walks, striking out two.
