CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) is planning to formally announce her candidacy for South Carolina governor early Monday morning.

Mace’s team shared a video announcing her bid online along with a “Nancy Mace for Governor” website and social media heading late Sunday night, just hours before she was set to deliver a “major address on the future of South Carolina.”

"President Trump needs America First governors. South Carolina needs a fighter," she said in a social media post leading up to Monday’s announcement.

Mace also announced last week a statewide series of town hall-style events throughout August, although dates and locations have not yet been shared publicly.
