LOS ANGELES – A 28-year-old man wanted for shooting a driver accused of plowing into a crowd of pedestrians in East Hollywood was arrested in Redondo Beach, authorities said Monday.

ABC7 reported Efrain Villalobos of Lawndale was arrested by Redondo Beach police and turned over to Los Angeles Police Department detectives about 1:15 p.m. Sunday.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department inmate records reported Villalobos was formally arrested at the LAPD Rampart Division at 5:45 p.m. and that he was booked into the LAPD Jail Division at 10:59 p.m., held with no bail.

Villalobos is suspected of shooting 29-year-old Fernando Ramirez in the lower back during a chaotic scene outside a nightclub in the early hours of July 19, according to the LAPD.
