NEWPORT, N.J. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A fire broke out under a PATH train in Newport, New Jersey, causing passengers to flee the train and several train lines to be suspended Monday.

Footage from Joseph Nikhil Reddy shows the chaos as passengers attempted to leave the smoking train carriage on Monday morning.

According to news reports, the fire started underneath an eastbound train at approximately 6:15 a.m. Eastern.

The report said passengers were evacuated from the train, several of whom were treated for smoke inhalation.

Trains were suspended Monday morning between Hoboken and World Trade Center and 33rd Street, and between Journal Square and 33rd Street stations, according to transport officials.
