James Whale, the TalkTV and pioneering radio broadcaster, has died at the age of 74.
After beating kidney cancer in 2000 following a 50% chance of survival, he was tragically diagnosed with the disease once again five years ago.
He confirmed that the cancer had spread to his brain, lungs and spine, but despite the challenges he faced, he continued to appear on his Talk Radio show.
News of his death was announced by TalkTV in a statement, which read: "The staff, presenters and friends of Talk are devastated at the passing of Talk presenter and broadcasting titan, James Whale MBE, who has died aged 74 after a long battle with cancer."
His wife Nadine, told the Express: "James slipped away very gently this morning. It was a beautiful passing and he left with a smile on his face."
