Delivery drivers might be prohibited from playing their radios whilst making stops at a takeaway, in an effort to minimise noise disturbance for local residents.

This is one of the stipulations being suggested for Caprinos Pizza, located in Cross Heath, which is seeking permission to extend its operating hours until 4am.

A decision on the Liverpool Road takeaway's request to modify its licence was expected to be made by councillors in June. However, the licensing sub-committee at Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council postponed the hearing, requesting a noise impact assessment and a set of proposed conditions from officers.

Caprinos is aiming to alter its licence to permit it to remain open until 4am on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 3am for the remainder of the week.
