NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department has arrested two suspects in the murder of a 13-year-old boy.

Jalin Xavier Antwan McCormick, 20, of Ladson, and Carlise Marquis Noble Jr., 18, are each charged with murder and possessing a weapon during a violent crime.

Police spokesman Harve Jacobs said these arrests are in connection to the July 19 shooting death of Amir Sims, 13, who was shot on the 3000 block of Azalea Drive and died at an area hospital that night from his injuries.

Detectives reportedly identified McCormick and Noble as suspects over the course of their investigation.

McCormick was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force and Noble turned himself in Monday morning.

Both men were booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.
