Mackie Samoskevich predicted his own future.

The proof was right there as the Florida Panthers forward took the Stanley Cup back to his hometown of Newtown, Connecticut.

Samoskevich posed with the famed trophy next to what appeared to be a grade school project he did years ago that read "When I grow up I want to be a hockey player."

Well, not only did he reach his goal, he reached the pinnacle of hockey as a member of the back-to-back Stanley Cup champion Panthers.

While home, Samoskevich brought the Cup to the Sandy Hook Elementary School Memorial, built to honor the victims of the tragic 2012 mass shooting at the school.

Later in the day he stopped by his youth rink, the Northford Ice Pavilion.
