The start of school is going to be different for students in Central Florida as cellphone bans go into effect.

Educators said cellphones are a distraction in the classroom, and the ban will eliminate that. School superintendents said it's going to be a learning process at some schools for students to adapt.

"This year, we're increasing that limit to basically the entire school day," said Brevard County School Superintendent Mark Rendell.

While students pack their bags for school with essentials like lunch and schoolwork, one item that will not be coming out is their cellphones.

Local districts are telling students to put their phones away and focus more on learning in the classroom.
