A British couple were left in a state of distress after their son managed to sneak onto a flight to the wrong country, having lost sight of him at a bustling Spanish airport earlier today.

The alarmed parents raised the alarm after they lost track of their teenage son at Menorca Airport, just before their scheduled Tui flight back to London Stansted. Upon investigation, police reviewed CCTV footage and discovered that the 15 year old had managed to board a flight to Italy instead.

He had navigated through security and boarded the Milan-bound flight around the same time his original flight to Stansted was due to depart. This incident follows a recent case where a mother left her 16-month-old baby home alone, resulting in the child's death while she went on holiday.
