ATLANTA — 11Alive's Maria Martin is back in Flowery Branch for Falcons camp on Monday, where the quarterbacks are making a little bit of news.

Meanwhile, right tackle Kaleb McGary is getting a two-year, $30 million contract extension according to ESPN's Adam Schefter .

Maria reports that Michael Penix Jr. and Kirk Cousins will both sit out the first preseason game on Friday against the Lions. There's no injury concern, just the team limiting their action.

That paves the way for Easton Stick and Emory Jones to get snaps in the preseason opener against Detroit.
