A woman went to the hospital after a crash involving a Lancaster County sheriff's deputy Sunday morning, Lincoln police said.

The deputy, 49-year-old Dustin Buchheister, was driving his Ford Explorer patrol cruiser north on Northwest 48th Street near West Adams Street about 10:15 a.m., according to police.

Buchheister turned left on West Adams Street and told Lincoln police officers he did not see a Honda Civic — driven by a 67-year-old Lincoln woman — heading south on Northwest 48th Street, police said.

Police said evidence indicates the deputy turned in front of the woman and the two cars collided in the intersection.

The woman was not taken to the hospital, but she later went on her own for minor back pain, according to police.

Police did not issue any citations, police added.
