UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- The second corrections officer to plead guilty in the beating death of Robert Brooks learned his fate in Oneida County Court on Monday.

Christopher Walrath pled guilty in May to a charge of first-degree manslaughter before Judge Robert Bauer. On Monday, August 4, Judge Bauer sentenced him to 15 years in prison and five years post-release supervision.

Walrath is one of two people to plead guilty in the Robert Brooks case and learn of a subsequent sentence. Nicholas Gentile, after pleading guilty to tampering with physical evidence, was sentenced in June to one year of conditional discharge.
