EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Monday was a busy morning at EVSC’s bus lot in downtown Evansville.
As the buses once again took to the streets, school leaders stressed all the hard work that goes into planning routes, and getting the buses ready to pick up and take home all those kids.
Chief Communication Officer for the EVSC, Jason Woebkenberg, says, “Our drivers are excited. We always say we can never have enough school bus drivers because with relief drivers and what not, kudos to everyone in our transportation department to get our students ready to get to school this morning.”
A reminder to drivers, it is illegal to pass a school bus that is stopped with its red lights flashing and stop-arm extended.
Penalties can include fines, jail time, and suspension of driving privileges.
