One day after he became eligible, De’Aaron Fox and the San Antonio Spurs have agreed to a four-year, $229 million contract max extension, which will kick in to start the 2026-27 season and last through 2030. Also, according to Shams, there is not a team or player option in the fourth year, so barring a trade, Fox is a Spur for the next five years.

Fox arrived in San Antonio in February ahead of the trade deadline in a steal-of-a-deal that only saw the Spurs lose Tre Jones, Zach Collins, Sidy Cissoko and three first round picks — with only the 2027 being the Spurs’ own pick.
