( 25News Now ) - Before High School Sports kick off next Monday across Central Illinois, Peoria native and long-time Harlem Globetrotter Curley Boo Johnson held his annual “Skills for Life” basketball camp with over six hundred campers from all over the area at various locations across Washington.
For Johnson and many involved, the most memorable part of the camp is having over ninety-plus area high school basketball players become coaches for the week, and help teach the campers the lessons, drills, and even some tricks that they’ve learned.
Previously the camp had been held in Dunlap for the last ten years, but was moved to Washington this summer to accommodate the exponential increase in campers, all wanting to learn from the former “World’s Greatest Dribbler”.
