CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Jeff Knight has pleaded not guilty to a slew of charges filed against him after he crashed his boat into the Clearwater Ferry in April.
The crash left 10 people injured and one person, José Castro, 41, dead.
Knight's attorney, Kevin Hayslett, appeared in court Friday on his behalf to enter the plea of not guilty, according to court documents.
Documents also revealed that additional charges have been filed against Knight since it was first announced by the FWC he would be charged in the incident.
The FWC said early last week Knight was charged with eight counts of felony leaving the scene of a boating accident involving death and or serious bodily injury.
He now faces a total of 24 counts, including eight counts of violation of navigational rule 5 resulting in
