MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department has charged two residents of a downtown apartment complex after a dispute over owed wages escalated to a robbery and then a stabbing, arrest documents show.
Both crimes reportedly took place Sunday at the Dr. R.Q. Venson Center at 439 Beale Street, where both suspects live.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with 54-year-old George Hunt, who suffered a non-life-threatening open stab wound on his stomach. He was sent to the hospital for treatment and was released the same day, but was booked into the Shelby County Jail shortly after.
Hunt told police that his former boss, 31-year-old Marciano Pigram, stabbed him with a knife.
Witnesses said the stabbing occurred outside the complex near a pavilion.
